Have been asked to submit fonts to a new font house - FreshComFonts. They are based here in the UK and offer a very reasonable pricing structure. Early days, but more news as it unfolds.

Monopolytype

Since October 2012 I have been placing fonts with Monotype Imaging for sale through Fonts.com. I can't say that this has been a very satisfying experience. No sales reports, slow communications etc.

Well, looking at the date of my last entry, I have certainly been far more engaged in designing fonts than I have in updating the blog!
To date I have sold fonts to customers in twelve countries ... mostly to the US, but others ranging from France to New Zealand. Although I will never make a living from this, it is satisfying to see the $$ rolling in.

Taking the plunge

At last I have decided to test the waters by releasing some of my font designs for sale on  MyFonts They are a very professional outfit and I look forward to seeing whether my fonts will sell.

RM Phatzzo was one of my earliest designs that had stayed in the background until today. Now it has received a review in PC World  

Things are starting to move

In the last few months people outside the FontStruct community are starting to notice (and use) a few of my designs

I was really pleased (and not a little proud) when Pepin Press included 30 of my designs in their new edition, 'Free Fonts Index 2' (available through Waterstones, Amazon, Tesco Books and more). To see my work in a publication that features so many well known professional designers was amazing.

Fivepoints Arthouse in San Fransisco used RM Scrapheap for one of their posters ...

Now, RM New Albion has been reviewed in   PC World  with the possibility of further reviews to come.

All in all, an exciting and encouraging few months.

Free Font Index 2

My complimentary copy of Hans Lijklema's new edition  Free Font Index 2 arrived today.

30 of my designs are included and I am honoured to appear alongside some really well known (and highly respected) names in the typographic world.

My thanks go as always to FontStruct for making it possible for me to realise these designs. Little did I know when I started out, just over 12 months ago, that anyone would take my work seriously. Now here I am ... 10s of thousands of downloads of my fonts and published! Perhaps it's time I took myself seriously
